Strain Reviews From Medical Marijuana Patients

With so many different medical marijuana strains available to patients, and so many ailments medical marijuana helps with, it can be a little confusing at times. But we’re doing our best to clear things up for MMJ patients and dispensaries.
We have launched a new website called MMJRevu which has one of the biggest medical marijuana strain databases online. But more importantly, each strain has a list of medical conditions it helps alleviate, and the effects of the strain.
All this information comes from medical marijuana patients, dispensaries and cultivators. This means the information is always up to date and accurate.
Now when you are using MMJMenu for your normal day-to-day operations at your dispensary, you will start seeing a “revu” icon on your menu page. When you click this icon, you will see a list of medical conditions this strain helps with, and the effects of that strain. This means your patients will get the exact medicine they need for their medical condition.
You also have the option to add medical conditions for every patient in your dispensary. So when John Doe comes in, we will find his medical conditions, and cross reference that with cannabis strains on your menu that will work for his ailments.
And when medical marijuana patients find a strain on MMJRevu that works for them, they can easily search MMJMenu and find a dispensary in their local area with that strain. Another reason why keeping your menu accurate and up to date is important.
Of course, this functionality is optional and you can turn it on or off at your dispensary as you please.
The Improved Patient Visit Page

When you go to the patient visit page, you’re going to notice a new look and new features. We got rid of all the old, small buttons and put in big, new buttons that are easier to see and use. Everything is spaced out and it’s easier to access discounts and payment information for the customer.
Speaking of discounts, we’ve added new functionality to the discount feature. Now, instead of just discounting the total purchase, you can discount individual items by price or percent. You can also add pre-set discounts, so a 50% employee discount is just one click away. To add pre-set discounts for your dispensary, just go to your dispensary options page, and scroll down to the “Discounts” settings.
Some popular pre-set discounts include employee discounts, senior citizen discounts and holiday special discounts. And with these pre-set discounts, your bud tenders won’t be wasting time editing purchase totals. Just one click and the discounts is applied to the customer.
We also re-designed the amount selector tool. Pre-weighed amounts are all on top, and a cool new feature is on the bottom. Take a look at the picture below to check it out. It’s a max payment option so customers who only have X amount of dollars can find out exactly how much medicine they can purchase (after taxes and fees) with the money they have!
If a customer comes in and says “I only have $50 to spend, how much can I get”? Simply type in $50 in the box, and we will automatically calculate how much medicine they can get for $50! We also take tax information into account to make sure the customer will not be charged more than they have, including taxes and other fees.
From one-click discounts to automatically calculating max prices, all of these updates make life for your bud tenders so much easier, and assisting patients much faster.
Marijuana Legalization is Prop 19 in California

If you live in California, you’re going to start hearing a lot more about Proposition 19 between now and November. That is the ballot initiative that California voters can vote on to LEGALIZE marijuana in the state of California.
The legalization of marijuana was actually on the California ballot way back in 1972, but it obviously failed with 66% of the population voting no. Coincidently, that ballot initiative way back in 1972 was also Prop 19.
The Secretary of State’s office says it was a coincidence. But you can’t put anything past the people who named the state’s medical marijuana bill SB 420.
Now is the time to start campaigning and educating people about why marijuana should be legalized. And if California voters decide to pass this in November, that could be the catalyst this country needs to start re-thinking marijuana laws.

Oregon Reclassifies Marijuana to a Schedule 2 Drug

What does this mean? Well, a Schedule 1 drug (which is how marijuana is classified in all other 49 states) which says marijuana has no accepted or proven medical use, and has a high potential for abuse.
Oregon became the first state in the nation to reclassify marijuana as a Schedule 2 drug which states that “marijuana has accepted and proven medical value”.
The vote was taken by the State Board of Pharmacy last week. By taking this step to reclassify marijuana, it will surely open more doors for patients to use medical marijuana. It will also allow for more state-sponsored medical testing of marijuana to prove the medical benefits marijuana provides to so many people. With any hope, it will also be a catalyst for other states in the USA to follow in Oregon’s footsteps to reclassify marijuana as well.
This decision will also put up some legal protection for medical marijuana patients at work, so they can’t out-right be fired for using marijuana when it’s a medical prescription.
The Board placed marijuana into “Schedule II Controlled Substances,” which contains substances that have a “high abuse potential with severe psychological or physical dependence liability,” but are accepted for medical use in the US and are available by prescription. The Oregon Controlled Substances Act provides three additional schedules for substances that are progressively less serious or dangerous, Schedules III, IV and V.
The Board reviewed scientific and medical literature and heard testimony from experts and members of the public before voting to move marijuana into Schedule II. This action is consistent with Oregon’s assertion that marijuana does have an acceptable medical use.

A Few Notable and Noticeable Changes

Today we’re proud to announce that we’re launching an updated, faster, all-around better version of MMJ Menu.
The first change you’ll notice in the new MMJ Menu is the navigation bar on top. We got rid of the navigation bars hidden away on the manage page. Now you can get to every main page (Patients, Caregivers, Management Area) in the top navigation bar. Everything else is right where you are used to seeing it.
We also added the ability to print pictures on your patient ID cards. So instead of just a name, address and barcode, you can print your patients faces on their cards to easily identify them.
We’re always working on new ways to make MMJ Menu faster and better, and in the coming weeks you will see more small changes and additions that will make your life as a dispensary owner and employee even easier.
